Rome Italy

Culture and Cappucino

Centuries have passed since Rome was the undisputed Centre of the World but the charm and character of this city will still win the soul of those lucky enough to spend some time here. The Eternal City’s essence comes from the beauty of its monuments and piazzas, the livelihood of its bars, the friendliness and easy elegance of the people, and the colours that paint the sky and the palazzi at sunset.

Rome has always attracted visitors in droves who come to get a taste of its history, romance and style. The Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, the Vatican and the Roman Forum are but a few of the more famous sights, but Rome is home to much more than these. As the saying goes: “Rome was not built in a day” and nor can it be seen in one, and indeed many who have lived here for years have still not seen all there is to see.

And when you are tired of the culture and the history there are the fabulous Italian restaurants and shops to explore. The finest designer boutiques, both Italian and International, are to be found on the Via Condotti, but it is worth venturing further afield to discover some of the less famous local brands, especially the leather goods for which the Italians are well known. Dining in Rome is more than just a daily necessity, it is a pastime to be enjoyed at leisure and you truly feel the difference here between those who eat to live and those who live to eat! From the simplicities of Pizza and Pasta to the more intricate Osso Bucco and Fruiti dei Mare and the joys of Italian gelati, some of the best ice cream in the world there is something to please every palate.
